The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD both earned recognition in Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards this year. The analysts and experts at KBB estimated that both models would hold much of their value during a five-year ownership or leasing period, which is great when you go to sell or trade in your vehicle.
The 2021 Sierra 1500 took third place in the full-size pickup truck category. According to KBB, the truck should hold 49.5 percent of its resale value after five years. The automotive research company found the fourth generation of the truck to be incredibly stylish and capable, giving a nod to its engine lineup, towing camera technology, and available six-function MultiPro™ Tailgate.
With an estimated resale value of 56.8 percent after five years, the 2021 Sierra HD topped the heavy-duty pickup truck segment in the Best Resale Value Awards. KBB was impressed by the truck’s ProGrade™ Trailering System and maximum towing capacity of 36,000 pounds when properly equipped. The company also noted that the available 6.6-liter V8 Turbo-Diesel engine, which delivers 910 lb-ft of torque, is ideal for towing.
