General Motors announced that new Super Cruise features will come with six 2022 model year vehicles within the first quarter of 2022, including the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 and the 2022 Hummer EV. This hands-free driver-assistance technology is the first of its kind, and GM hopes that it will help lead to a world in which 95% hands-free driving is possible.
To date, over 10 million miles of roads have been driven hands-free thanks to GM’s Super Cruise Technology, which is available to use on over 200,000 miles of roads across the U.S. and Canada. Over-the-air updates make sure that you will always receive the latest Super Cruise advancements.
New capabilities for Super Cruise in the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2022 Hummer EV include the ability to drive hands free while trailering, taking the burden away from you. The newest iteration of Super Cruise can identify when the time is right for a lane change and even initiate it, all while following legal signaling protocol.
For vehicles with the embedded Google Maps app, the upgraded Super Cruise can find roads compatible with the feature whenever you search a route on the app, enabling you to find the route that will make the most use out of your new hands-free driver assistance feature.
