While gasoline prices are not as high as they were a few years ago, getting gas is still a significant expense when it comes to car ownership. If you are looking for ways to save, here are some of the best time to fil up the tank.
According to GasBuddy’s nationwide analysis, Mondays are the days you can expect to see the cheapest gas prices. Sundays and Tuesdays follow. On the other side of the coin, Thursdays and Fridays are the most expensive days, on average. However, here in Texas, Wednesdays are often the most expensive days to buy gas.
If you are more concerned about saving time, you can follow the same advice. On Sundays and Mondays, you will have the shortest wait times. And, if you want to fill-up during your commute the work, the best time to visit the gas station is between 8-10 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said, “Our data shows that most motorists are filling up on not only the most expensive day, but the busiest. Having a tank of gas last until Sunday or even Monday each week can collectively save drivers $2.6 billion and spare the headache of not being able to find an available pump.”
