Christmas Light Tunnel

A Christmas Carol at Alley Theatre (Through Dec. 30)

In the mood for a live Christmas tale? Alley Theatre in Houston will be home to A Christmas CarolA Ghost Story of Christmas, a staging of Charles Dickens’ classic novel. It’s the ideal holiday activity for the whole family.

Zoo Lights at the Houston Zoo (Through Jan. 13)

While the zoo is usually a place to spot wild animals, it becomes so much more in the winter. Gorgeous light displays throughout the zoo turn the park into a must-see winter wonderland.

Ice Skating at Discovery Green (Through Jan. 27)

Whether you’re good at ice skating or have trouble even staying upright, you have plenty of time to practice! An ice-skating rink in downtown Houston will be open through January and is the perfect family-friendly outing.

Christmas Village at Bayou Bend (Through Jan. 5)

The Christmas Village is perfect for kids, but adults can just as easily find themselves wide-eyed and gape-jawed. There’s sledding on a faux-snow slide, live music, scavenger hunts, and more. There are even fake snowball fights using cotton balls.

Alvin Christmas Train (Through Dec. 23)

Take a trip to Alvin to hop on this holiday-themed trained. While it’s not quite the Polar Express, it will take you to see various Christmas sights and over 300,000 lights, all from the seat of an old-fashioned train car.
